This panel of distinguished experts will discuss the nextgen writers room and the ethical considerations of using AI in the creative industry, particularly regarding intellectual property and authorship. We'll delve into the practical ways AI tools are enhancing creativity and efficiency for writers, directors, and producers and discuss implications of uncredited use of creative works. Panelists will share their best prompting tips providing valuable insights for anyone navigating the intersection of technology and creativity.

Rosemary Lokhorst, CEO & co-founder, BADASS Studios Ltd: Rosemary Lokhorst is a writer & award-winning game producer. Her script, ‘Flat Martha,’ is an Academy Nicholl fellowship semi-finalist and an Austin Film Festival semi-finalist. Rosemary writes for and consults companies on using storytelling from traditional to mixed reality. She’s an investor in Quantum Reality, the company behind XR experiences for Universal and Hasbro and creator of the AI CR portal for 3D storytellign. She consulted on MyndSet, gamified weight loss app, where she helped program the in-app AI narrator and created narrative content based on physician content.. She produced and wrote on Shadow’s Edge (www.shadowsedge.com), the award-winning narrative game where young people save a city that has been hit by a storm by working on their emotional health. Shadow’s Edge is a clinically proven and contemporary way to reach youth right where they are–on their phones, playing games. She’s the co-founder of Badass Studios, a mixed reality development studio focused storytelling for brands to connect with their audiences in the metaverse combining story with mixed reality, VR, and AI. Rosemary was recently named one of the Top 25 Exceptional Women In Gaming for her contribution to serious gaming. After two decades in F500 tech companies, Rosemary joined the early start-up Living PlanIT, a company that used storytelling and gamified simulations to improve real life Urban Planning for cities around the world. It fueled her passion for demonstrating the potential of trans-media storytelling to harness the power of technology. She teaches about storytelling in various media and disciplines and speaks at gaming and tech conferences. As a tech investor, judge for Serious Play and the Hollywood Horror Festival, and a ‘Women in Games’ ambassador, she’s passionate about leveling the playing field for women in writing for games.


Eve Weston believes in storytelling as a force for positive change. Weston is writer/director of the award-winning world’s first 360VR immersive sitcom, The BizNest. She is also a published expert in XR narrative, author of the taxonomy for immersive POV and a professor of VR filmmaking, TV writing and immersive storytelling at top-ranked film schools. She consults on extended reality (XR) storytelling and experience design for a range of clients, from top Hollywood producers to Silicon Valley manufacturers of XR hardware and software. Weston’s speaking engagements include Stanford University, SIGGRAPH and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the organization behind the Emmys. She is an advisory board member for Hoppin.world. And for The Bruce Lee Foundation, Weston created Be Water: My Friend, an interactive exploration of Bruce Lee's library and philosophy, currently on view at Seattle’s Wing Luke Museum. Weston is co-founder of TheLook.Club, the first searchable database of immersive narrative, which also hosts an original review show on its YouTube channel. Additionally,  Weston founded Metaverse Talent Group to provide real people for virtual worlds, connecting businesses of all kinds with experienced individuals who can host, perform, sell, and represent their business in the metaverse. An award-winning journalist, Weston has written about VR for Ms. Magazine and The New York Post.  A produced television writer, she’s written and developed for several ABC/Disney channels and shows, including Wizards of Waverly Place—where she wrote and choreographed a viral YouTube sensation for Selena Gomez. Petula Miller,  Screenwriter and novelist, "Writers League of Texas 2024 Fellow": Originally from Barbados, Petula Miller immigrated to the US and recently became a citizen, sadly losing her awkwardly cool ‘alien’ status. She is a Writers League of Texas 2024 Fellow and screenwriter and works in augmented reality development, building systems at the intersection of technology and art. Once upon a time, she was even in a reggae band.


Evette Vargas, CoFounder, Indigo Reign Films: Evette Vargas is an award-winning writer, director, producer and immersive storyteller. Named by the New York Times as an “Artist to Watch,” Vargas has produced series for Amazon, MTV, Bravo, DirectTV; and interactive content for Fast And Furious, Lord Of The Rings trilogy, Madonna and Wu-Tang Clan. Vargas executive produced, wrote and directed her digital series Dark Prophet, starring Henry Rollins, which was in contention for two Emmys. Vargas has a drama series set up at Entertainment One, a drama series at MGM Television with Marc Guggenheim and Rosario Dawson serving as executive producers, and sold her drama series, Muses, to TNT Super Deluxe. Vargas is currently writing a feature film for Reyes King Productions, developing a series for Shout! Factory and Twentyone14 Media, and developing the television slate for Hidden Empire Film Group. Vargas wrote The Current War VR Experience, a companion piece for the film, starring Benedict Cumberbatch. Vargas was commissioned by Final Draft to create the Evette Vargas Immersiveplay, the professional script writing template for VR, AR, XR writing. A staunch activist for inclusion and equity, Vargas founded The Writers Room 5050 to mentor storytellers and create opportunities for their next-level success. A member of the Writers Guild of America, Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and Producers Guild of America, Vargas was born in the Bronx and learned to tell stories at the dinner table where imagination ruled. Vargas collects action figures, typewriters and shoes; has past lives as a DJ, a fashion designer, and is a recovering New York City advertising Art Director.


Christina Lee Storm is an award-winning creative producer and senior media & entertainment executive recognized for her groundbreaking work at the intersection of storytelling and technology spanning film, television, animation, documentaries, virtual reality, augmented reality, and XR. Founder and CEO of ASHER XR and PLAYBOOK, Christina drives strategic and creative development of emerging technologies for series, film, digital, and multi-platform storytelling. She has been instrumental in implementing advanced production technologies, spearheading virtual production initiatives, and driving innovation in content creation and creativity for studio IP and franchises including Netflix, Universal, DreamWorks Animation. Christina is Governor of the Television Academy’s Emerging Media Programming peer group. She is globally recognized as a thought leader, keynote speaker, and panelist in the emerging media landscape tackling the topics of disruption in the entertainment industry and the role of technology in storytelling. Beyond her creative achievements, Christina helps shape the future of the industry by serving on the Television Academy’s AI Task Force and the Producers Guild of America’s Production Innovation Task Force. She has also served on the Producers Guild of America’s National Board of Directors and as Founding Member of DreamWorks Animation's TECHWomen.
